Wind Turbine

A wind-based Generation Plant that employs the kinetic energy of air to spin a turbine to produce Electricity.  The majority of wind turbines are horizontal-axis turbines with three blades that operate ‘upwind’. Vertical-axis turbines are another design that are omnidirectional and so do not need to point into the wind to operate.

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.
