Static VAR Compensator (SVC)

A shunt-connected power electronics-based device which operates by injecting reactive current into the Load tomitigating the effect of a sag in Voltage level.

SVC devices can quickly and reliably manage line Voltages, especially following system contingencies, to reduce losses, mitigate active power oscillations and prevent over-voltage conditions.

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.
