Pumped Hydro

A type of Hydroelectric Generation where two water reservoirs at different elevations are connected through a pipeline. Water is stored in the upper reservoir and run through a turbine to a lower reservoir to produce Electricity when needed. The water is then mechanically pumped back to the upper reservoir, usually during periods where there is an oversupply of Renewable Energy output. Where deployed at significant scale, Pumped Hydro has the ability to provide long-duration Energy Storage for the Power System.
