Distribution Management System (DMS)

An operational system capable of collecting, organising, displaying, and analysing real-time or near real-time Distribution Network information. A DMS can also allow network operators to plan and execute complex system operations to increase efficiency, optimise power flows, and prevent overloads. It can also interface with other operations applications, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS).

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.

All feedback will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in subsequent updates.
