Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)

A specific configuration of technology components that records and tracks information in a distributed manner, as opposed to centralised. The information is stored and shared across a network of participants (also known as ‘nodes’) with each participant utilising a consensus mechanism to verify and agree on information modification. This configuration allows participants of the network to have secure access to information with a view limited by their access privileges.
