Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST)

A solar-based Generation Plant that uses mirrors (also called heliostats) to concentrate a large area of sunlight into a targeted location to produce extremely high temperatures. This heat is captured using a fluid, such as oil or molten sodium, which can then be used to heat water to create steam to power a turbine and produce Electricity

Additional benefits of CST plant include the ability for thermal energy to be cost-effectively stored for long periods for later use to power a turbine and/or be used directly to decarbonise adjacent industrial processes.

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.
