Complex Adaptive System (CAS)

A System consisting of a large number of dynamically interacting Components (Entities, elements and/or agents) which adapt and evolve over time in response to their environment and the interactions between them.
CAS are characterised by their dynamic and nonlinear behaviour, where the behaviour of the whole system is in no way explainable as the sum of the individual Components.

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.

All feedback will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in subsequent updates.
