Transmission-Distribution Interoperability Mechanisms (TDIM)

The current and emerging functions and protocols that need to be executed across the Transmission-Distribution Interface (TDI) in their formalised and increasingly automated forms.

Key areas of priority are expected to include enhanced, low latency data exchange relevant to the joint management of Frequency, Voltage, Congestion, Energy Flows, Essential System Services (ESS) and Supply Demand Balance

Underpinned by appropriate decisions about the enabling Systems Architecture of the relevant Grid, the TDIM will play a key role in supporting the next generation of end-to-end Visibility, Operational Coordination and Resource Adequacy analysis.

Given the fast-evolving nature of power system transformation, the Future Grid Accelerator (FGA) has the status of a perpetual BETA version. Your suggestions for how each concept and definition may be enhanced are very welcome.

All feedback will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in subsequent updates.
